Eidelweiss Village / Madison, New Hampshire / Eastern White Mountains

This beloved cabin is located in the foothills of the White Mountains within the charming village of Eidelweiss of the town of Madison, New Hampshire. The cabin is owned by myself (Greg Parsons, co-author of New England Waterfalls: A Guide to More Than 4000 Cascades & Waterfalls) and my wife, Abby.

The cabin is available for weekly rentals on a year-round basis. We also allow 3-night rentals on holiday weekends if we don't already have the whole week rented.

The cabin is located less than ten minutes from the famed Kancamagus Highway (NH-112), and is only twenty minutes from downtown North Conway. There are an endless amount of things to see and do within a short drive of the cabin. It's impossible to get bored in this vacation-friendly area.

Several ponds within Eidelweiss Village provide nice, sandy beaches for relaxing, swimming, and kayaking. Parking is free.

The cabin is cozy and mostly open-concept, which helps encourage group camaraderie.

The cabin officially sleeps up to 8 people, but is much better suited for 6 people or less. Due to pet allergies of several of our family members, NO PETS are allowed, unfortunately. This is a strict rule and no exceptions are made.

Questions about the cabin? Please email Greg at

  • Queen Bed (in a private master bedroom)
  • Queen Bed (in an open-concept finished basement)
  • Full Bed (in a semi-private, low-ceiling loft that is above the living area/common area; kids older than 6 love sleeping in this bed)
  • Twin Bunk-Beds (in an open-concept finished basement)

  • Cabin is located on a 1-acre lot, is surrounded by woods, and has good privacy from neighbors
  • Wood stove
  • Outdoor fire-pit (please keep the size of the outdoor fire reasonable at all times)
  • Bathroom w/combined tub & shower
  • Full kitchen w/pots & pans
  • Custom log furniture throughout cabin
  • Foosball table
  • Finished basement
  • Outdoor grill w/propane provided
  • Tons of board games/card games/puzzles
  • Guidebook/trail map library
  • Full-sized refrigerator
  • Full-sized stove
  • TV with DVD/Blu-Ray players (with more than 100 DVDs to choose from)

Sorry, but wifi/cable/internet are NOT currently available at the cabin. We are considering adding wifi/cable/internet in the near future, so please email us if you absolutely need this amenity in order to check and see if we have added any of these services.

Verizon 3G/4G normally works very well for mobile devices. AT&T 3G/4G can be spotty, but often works at an acceptable level for mobile devices.

The driveway and access roads are all regularly plowed in winter. We have never seen conditions that required a 4WD vehicle (any passenger vehicle should be able to navigate the nearly flat dirt roads required to reach our cabin).

  • Must be > 24 years of age to rent cabin.
  • Maximum of 8 guests allowed. A maximum of 6 or less is preferred.
  • Parking is limited to 5 vehicles.

  • No smoking (of any kind) in the cabin, or anywhere else on the property. If you smoke, it must be done on the public street.
  • Children under the age of 6 are not allowed in the loft or on the top-bunk of the bunk-bed (due to the obvious risk of falling).

Waterfalls, swimming holes, and hiking can be extremely dangerous. Hundreds of people have been injured or killed in the waterfalls and swimming holes of New England over the last 50 years. Never swim when the water currents seem like they are too high or strong. Use of this website and all of its information is at your own risk! Be safe out there - and always use common sense!
