The 25-foot tall lower falls of Little Wilson Falls offers a great pool for swimming and wading. This is where the locals go on a warm summer day. Between the scenic waterfall, free camping (tents only), and the fun swimming holes, visitors of all age groups are often seen here. There is a clear view of the falls from any one of the parking spots along the stream. The parking area and campground offer a few fire pits for those looking to spend some additional time at the falls.
Although we are yet to visit them, the upper falls of Little Wilson Falls reside nearby. The falls are a popular rest-stop on the Appalachian Trail, but we have been unable to locate them on two separate attempts. We know they are thereówe have seen gorgeous pictures of the fallsóbut our luck finding them has so far been limited. For those looking for an adventure, finding the 40-foot upper falls is bound to be exciting.
The falls are clearly visible from roadside.

SPECIAL NOTES / UPDATES SINCE THE 2ND EDITION:
On 1-19-2012, we received an email from a website visitor stating that the road to Little Wilson Falls had been gated off and that a court battle over ownership of the road was in process. Until we receive any more updates, I'd avoid going to this waterfall! Photo of the upper section of Little Wilson Falls was generously provided by Brian Swartz.
